Fabrizio Silvestrelli is an Italian master knife maker, known for his elegant and practical masterpieces. He began his career in 1988 and is currently president of the Italian Knifemakers Association. M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC, vacuum and cryogenic treatment and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - wide Sheepfoot blade , finished with an elegant satin finish. Despite its thickness, the full flat grind provides excellent cutting qualities combined with superb durability. The low descending guard protects fingers from slipping on the blade while working. Upper jimping long textured thumb rest, as well as finger choil (deep textured finger notch) make it easier to maintain control of the knife while working.
Handle - ergonomically profiled with finger notches. 3D machined grips made of exotic Bocote wood with a unique grain pattern, attached directly to the blank.
