D2 - a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat -treated to 58-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade - slender, Drop Point S/E (Single Edge) type, single sided sharpened, with a long false blade. Coated with a titanium-based black finish. The elongated belly extends the length of the cutting edge relative to the length of the blade converging towards a needle-sharp tip. The thickness of the blade combined with a high flat grind gives excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. Opening the blade, which can be opened with a index-finger flipper.
