1851 Colt Navy Yank Steel London Gettysburg Old Silver .44 - a limited edition of Pietta revolvers from the DeLuxe series, commemorating the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the bloodiest engagements of the American Civil War. This pivotal battle marked the downfall of the Confederate forces. This extraordinary weapon, an icon of the Wild West, features laser-engraved designs including battle flags and insignia of Union and Confederate cavalry, quotes from Abraham Lincoln—"A house divided against itself cannot stand" and "This nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom"—along with the date of the Battle of Gettysburg. Unlike standard Colt Navy revolvers, the cylinder engraving portrays the Battle of Gettysburg instead of the Battle of Campeche.

Designed in 1847, it was adopted by the U.S. Army as the 1851 Navy model. Despite its name, the Colt Navy was supplied in greater numbers to the land forces than to the Navy. Its reputation reached England, where Samuel Colt established the only factory outside the United States in 1852. Revolvers manufactured there bore the name Navy London.

Construction - The revolver features steel grip fittings, a trigger guard (bow), an engraved six-chamber cylinder, and an octagonal barrel measuring 7.37" in length with a rifling twist rate of 1:30". The open-frame steel structure is finished in Old Silver. The sighting system includes a fixed front sight.

Grips - Checkered walnut grip panels ensure a firm hold. The deep cuts facilitate accurate shooting even with hands soiled by powder and grease. The grips are oil-treated to enhance the wood's color, emphasize the grain, and preserve a natural appearance.

Ramrod - A lever-action plunger mounted on a hinge beneath the barrel, designed for pressing lead balls into the cylinder chambers.
