Microtech LUDT T/E Gen III Automatic Knife Black Aluminum/3M, Black M390MK by Tony Marfione (1136-1T)
- LUDT T/E Gen III Black Aluminum/3M, Black to meet the demands of special units operators has a powerful spring-loaded blade opening mechanism, unprecedented in knives of this size. The opening is designed to be as secure underwater and land.

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
LUDT T/E Gen III Black Aluminum/3M, Black The updated L.U.D.T. not only retains the iconic aesthetics of its predecessor, but also introduces several significant improvements. The redesigned body features non-slip 3M inlays and ball bearings for even smoother opening. It is worth noting that the new design does not have patented fittings (screws), so the knife can be serviced with ordinary Torx keys. The blade has retained its length of 89 mm, which ensures the same carrying comfort as its predecessor.
The switchblade knife is equipped with a powerful spring mechanism that opens the blade, which is rare in knives of this size. This is because the opening must be as effective underwater as it is in the air, so the spring force takes into account the resistance of the aquatic environment.
It is more than just a knife; it is a tool that has been designed with the most demanding users in mind. Made of the best materials, it is characterized by unparalleled durability and is ready for any challenge. The machine has been designed to meet the expectations of US Army special forces operators. Its design is the result of long-term research and testing aimed at creating a tool that is optimal in terms of functionality and durability. The blade is made of high-quality Böhler M390MK steel, which is known for its corrosion resistance and long-lasting sharpness. The knife's handle is made of aluminum, which ensures lightness and durability. Special 3M inlays ensure a secure grip even under the toughest conditions. It is not only a tool, but also a symbol of reliability and durability. It is a knife that will survive anything. Whether you are a special forces operator or a regular user, this knife will certainly meet your expectations.
LUDT Line - Microtech L.U.D.T. (Large Underwater Demolition Team) was named after the Navy SEALs Underwater Demolition Team, or UDT for short. It was the first knife created by Microtech when it started out in 1994. A knife that bears such a name has to be professional, and the Microtech LUDT series absolutely is. They are very robust, made of the highest quality materials and can withstand all the rigors of the battlefield. And its legendary reliability has made it the first choice for the special operations community.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel has been created, made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more thorough control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it keeps its edge well, which means that the blade stays sharp for a very long time (minimal maintenance required). Another advantage is that it is resistant to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) and an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine-ground T/E (Tanto Edge) type, single-edged with a long line of grooves on both sides of the blade for reinforcement. Black protective coating. The pronounced belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade, converging towards a needle-sharp tip. The robust blade thickness and long grain, combined with a high flat grind, provide excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. Ceramic ball bearings support the push-button blade opening system, which is located in a slight depression for safety. To maintain full control over the blade, there is upper jimping, a ridged thumb rest on the back of the blade. The whole knife is secured with a proven and popular button lock.
Handle - made with high precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from aluminum 6061-T6. Perfectly fitted inlays (inlay) made of special 3M Traction Tape material with a sandpaper texture ensure that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. The sturdy backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire construction. The handle has jimping for a more secure grip. The ergonomic profile and single-position (right) solid clip, which allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in a tip-down position (with the tip of the blade facing down). There is a lanyard hole at the back, a place for a safety or decorative cord.
