Microtech Combat Troodon D/E Gen III OTF Knife RAL-8000 Cerakote Aluminium, RAL-8000 Cerakote M390MK by Tony Marfione (1142-1CRA)
- Combat Troodon D/E Gen III RAL-8000 Cerakote Aluminum, RAL-8000 Cerakote The largest OTF in the Troodon series. Designed for a wide range of applications and close combat. Fast blade extension mechanism in D/A mode.

Combat Troodon D/E Gen III RAL-8000 Cerakote Aluminum, RAL-8000 Cerakote This is the largest of the automatic knives and the pinnacle of precision engineering and tactical efficiency in the field of OTF (Out The Front) knives. Built for a wide range of applications, it is 25% larger than the flagship Troodon. Precisely crafted, equipped with a sophisticated and extremely fast ejector mechanism with a razor-sharp blade. 100% manufactured and assembled in the USA. Designed by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.
Combat Troodon OTF Line - Troodon is Greek for “tooth that wounds”. Although this name was first given to a dinosaur similar to a raptor, it is equally suitable for the large OTF knife from Microtech, which was developed for all-purpose use and close combat. This automatic knife with above-average durability and D/A (Double Action) mode is a favorite OTF among law enforcement officers, the U.S. armed forces, and emergency services personnel. Its robust design makes the Combat Troodon® suitable for intensive use, and the advantages of the Out The Front automatic mechanism also make it an excellent knife for everyday use.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel has been made just for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more precise control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by an extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to the high wear resistance, the shape of the edge is retained, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (minimal maintenance required). Another advantage is the resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Cerakote™ - a ceramic-based finish that can be applied to metals, improving a number of physical properties, including abrasion/wear and corrosion resistance. A thin, non-reflective, matt protective coating with a low coefficient of friction, resistant to high temperatures, chemicals and impact resistance. Ensures durability and hardness.
Blade - machine-ground D/E (Double Edge) Dagger, sharpened on both sides, with a long line of fuller grooves on both sides of the blade. Characterized by an eye-catching Two Tone finish, with the grinding and fuller grooves coated with Cerakote™, the rest of the blade is satin-finished. The blade is produced with a high flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting properties. This makes the knife very durable and gives it excellent piercing properties. The wide grain additionally strengthens the blade. The strong blade extension / retraction mechanism with a knurled thumb slide, a stepped slider for the thumb, requires a certain amount of force to overcome the spring resistance for safety. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle - precision-made in 3D technology on CNC milling machines from coated Mil-Spec 6061-T6 aluminum, also coated with Cerakote™. The texture of the handle and the deep jimping on it ensure that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in a tip-down position. Equipped with a smooth rollerball, thanks to which the knife easily slides into the pocket without damaging the edges. The clip features the Microtech logo and date of manufacture. The handle ends with a window breaker, a steel triangle with a pressed-in tungsten carbide ball.
